Nursery
Culgaith’s Early Years provision is an important part of our school - it's where the building blocks of learning are established.
The key objectives of our nursery are for the children to have fun, learn and to become ready for the expectations of 'big school'. This occurs through children playing and working alongside Reception and Year 1 children in Class 1 with the development of early writing, reading and number skills, in line with the Early Years Framework, whilst still maintaining a play-led ethos with art, role-play and outdoor learning.
Our Nursery is very much integrated into the day-to-day life of our school where the Nursery children join in with collective worship and playtimes in addition to working with other children when the opportunities arise.
Please feel free to arrange a visit to have a look around.
We have a baby and toddler ‘Come and Play’ session twice a month. Please see the calendar for this terms dates. Parents and their children from our community, and beyond, are welcome in school to join Miss McWhirter and the youngest children in school for play, singing, activities and most of all, fun.
Nursery 2 years+
We are delighted to announce that from September we will be opening our brand new Nursery for children aged 2 years and above! This exciting new provision will provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where our youngest learners can explore, play and begin their educational journey with confidence and joy.
If you are interested in securing a place for your 2-year-old, we would love to hear from you. Please contact the school office for further information or to arrange a visit. We look forward to welcoming you and showing you what makes our Nursery such a special place to start learning.
Come and Play
Families with babies and toddlers below school age are warmly invited to pop along and join the fun in Class 1! It’s a friendly, relaxed session where little ones can explore, play and enjoy early learning activities alongside their grown-ups. Expect stories, songs, creative play and plenty of opportunities to make new friends in a welcoming school environment.
Sessions run from 2:00pm–3:00pm, giving families a lovely chance to experience school life in a gentle, engaging way before starting nursery. It’s also a great opportunity to meet staff, ask questions and see what makes our early years setting so special.
